At Thornton Park Dental Arts, we believe there’s no reason to let chipped, stained, or otherwise, cosmetically imperfect teeth prevent a patient from feeling comfortable with their smile. Porcelain Veneers In Orlando, FL

If damaged teeth are keeping you from smiling, or you’d like to improve the look of a few teeth, Orlando dentists at Thornton Park Dental Arts can restore the look of your teeth and help get you the smile you’ve always wanted.

Porcelain veneers are a thin, tooth-colored covering that works like a shell. This covering provides damaged teeth with the look and strength of a natural tooth, allowing for patients to enjoy a full set of teeth with a near-unnoticeable cosmetic fix. Due to being able to solve a large number of cosmetic issues, porcelain veneers are the preferred choice for patients looking for a long-lasting solution to stained or damaged teeth.

Who Qualifies For Porcelain Veneers?

Whether a patient is looking to reshape their smile or just looking for a cosmetic fix for damaged teeth, porcelain veneers can be an ideal solution. Dental issues that can be mended with a porcelain veneer include:

Heavily stained teeth

When other professional teeth whitening techniques prove ineffective, dental veneers are applied over the surface of the tooth, effectively covering stains and providing a natural look to the affected tooth or teeth.

Excessive gaps in teeth

If teeth have become unevenly spaced, porcelain veneers can help bridge the gap. Once placed over the tooth, gaps will be hardly noticeable as the veneer works to help reduce the space to a more natural level.

Broken or chipped teeth

When a tooth becomes chipped, it’s not only cosmetically displeasing, but it can also make daily tasks, such as eating or speaking, much more difficult. A porcelain veneer can help restore a tooth to its normal functionality while also improving its looks.

Imperfect smiles

For those looking for a remodeled smile without extensive dental work, then porcelain veneers are the perfect choice. Requiring only a few quick and simple procedures, patients can once again be confident in their smile without a hassle.

Porcelain Veneers Application Process

In order to provide patients with the best dental care possible, the veneers application process is broken up into multiple steps. It’s important to us at Thornton Park Dental Arts that we determine the best process for each patient based on their individualized needs. In general, patients can expect multiple visits to our office during the dental veneer process. The first step is an examination in which one of our dentists will determine if porcelain veneers are the correct procedure based on the patient’s dental concerns, as well as if the patient is a suitable candidate for veneers. From there, the tooth/teeth will be prepped for the veneer(s). This is done by removing a small layer of enamel from the surface of the tooth, and during this process the correct shape and appearance of the veneer will be determined and sent to a laboratory to be fabricated.

Once returned from the lab, the veneer will be applied to determine if the look and feel is ideal for the patient, and then it will be permanently attached with the help of a special adhesive cement. Once applied, any small adjustments are made in-office, and the patient is now ready to enjoy their new dental aesthetic.

Caring For Porcelain Veneers

If cared for properly, the benefits that come with porcelain veneers can last for years to come. Proper dental hygiene, including brushing and flossing, should be practiced daily in order to maintain the health and function of the veneer. Patients should also be careful with sticky or overly hard foods, as the veneer may become dislodged or broken if pulled on too heavily. Regular visits with our dentist office in Orlando, FL can also help reduce any issues that may arise over time.
